Bocce Club

Welcome

The Bocce Club is a mixture of full-time and seasonal residents. Bocce is a low-impact, handicapped accessible outdoor sport.

Thank you for visiting our Bocce Club website. We encourage you to learn more about why Sun City West residents are playing this fun game. It is a great form of outdoor exercise, friendly competition, and socialization.

BOCCE  LEAGUE  PLAY  (COMPETITIVE)  and  OPEN  BOCCE  (SOCIAL)

League play is the competitive component of the Bocce Club.  Leagues are comprised of 16 players, subs (who need to be members of the Club to play) and led by a captain.  We currently have leagues which play at various times Monday through Friday, morning, afternoon and evenings as well as Saturday morning. Open Bocce is the social play component of the Club.   The season begins on the same day as the beginning of league play.  Every Monday and Wednesday evening at 5pm, a club member will assign you to a court with random players for an evening of fun, social interaction and non-competitive play.  Typically, play will consist of 3 games but the courts are always open until 9pm.

The official bocce season begins the first Monday in October and ends the last Saturday of March.  Some leagues, but not all, choose to continue to play into the spring.  This is an unofficial season therefore league members may be comprised of players from other leagues as well.  Play may continue as long as people are willing to endure the heat. Courts 0 and 6 are not for use by the Club.  They are set aside for use by the public.
